Alaska Set 2 Susan & Ray

Our Route is the black line from Juneau to Sitka. the list is some of the animals that were spotted.

What looks like a lake at the foot of the mountains is Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau.

Scenes from the Inside Passage.  Glacial ice, mountains and cascades.
We did get to kayak in a couple of coves.

We saw ravens everywhere.

A memorial to a Japanese American high school senior who was whisked away to detention camp days before he was due to give the valedictorian's speech at his graduation.

Norwegian cookies and dancers kicked off a day in the charming town of Petersburg.

Outside the coolest bookstore, our last stop in Petersburg.

The view from the back of Sitka Public Library.

Snapshots of Tongass National Forest, a temperate rainforest.  Lots of moss.

Lots of wildflowers that benefit from the loooooong days, even when it is cloudy and foggy and rainy.
